Backed by 35 years of expertise as a general contractor, H.S. POW Construction and Development Corp. through its pioneering venture in real estate will bring to the Philippines the first Wyndham Garden Hotel, which is part of the world’s largest hotel chain.
Dedicated to building quality and well-designed developments, Wellworth Properties and Development Corp. chose hotel development as its first project after years of planning and careful study.
Harly Geraldine Pow, marketing director of H.S. POW, said property development was the next best step for the engineering company which has a track record of building industrial complexes, commercial and even residential establishments.
Pow said property consultancy firms have identified hotel as the best use for the family-owned property on Lopez drive in the vicinity of Tomas Morato avenue in Quezon City. With its technical expertise, manpower and supplier network, H.S. POW/Wellworth was able to negotiate with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Inc. to bring Wyndham Garden to the Philippines.
Now being groomed as the brand’s showcase in the country, Wyndham Garden Quezon City is a franchise of the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Inc. and becomes part of a network of more than 9,000 hotels which have a combined 600,000 rooms in 66 countries under 16 hotel brands.
The Philippines, Pow said, is a fitting addition to the Wyndham Hotel Group which is fast expanding its portfolio in Southeast Asia.
Wyndham Garden Quezon City will also be the first foreign branded hotel in the area where mom and pop and boutique accommodation facilities abound.
Pow said Wyndham Garden Quezon City will address the need for a three- to four-star accommodation of a wide range of travellers; its meeting rooms and a grand ballroom offering venues for corporate events. Located just across the ABS-CBN broadcasting center, the hotel is seen to capture government offices, pharmaceutical companies and television networks as clients.
Pow said H.S. POW and Wellworth lead a project development team for the project that also includes Rchitects Inc., PGAA Creative Design, SoH Consultancy Inc., R.B. Sanchez Consulting Engineers, F.L. Figueroa Associates Inc. , AML Hotel Consultants and Mario A. Alix Philippines.
Meant to fulfill the promise of a garden feel in a hotel, the development will make use of natural materials and pops of green to achieve serenity and a sense of calm.
The 25-storey Wyndham Garden Quezon City will have 235 guest rooms and suites, a grand ballroom strategically located on the second floor as well as function and meeting rooms on the 10th floor for seminars and events. Amenities include a restaurant, cafe and bar, swimming pool, jacuzzi and pool bar, spa and gym.
Wyndham Garden Quezon City will offer a unique proposition to investors by incorporating a condotel concept. Owners obtain a condominium certificate of title, sign a management contract with Wellworth which will manage the units for them. Owners will get a share of the rental income.
“Condotel is emerging to be a practical and efficient investment option that is relatively hassle-free,” Pow said.
Wellworth will sell 40 percent or 95 units of the hotel rooms for investment under a sale and leaseback agreement with buyers.
